OPERATION FEED THE WIDOW

It was beautiful talking to people I call mother at the Operation Feed the widow program. It was short yet impacting. I've always said that no matter what happens in life, you must keep moving. I could see the beautiful smiles on there faces as I spoke. It was as though they had forgotten all their sorrows.

They say we are.(Islamic Poem)

THEY SAY WE ARE-KARIM EWURA ADAMS
They say we are this
They say we are that
Those are the words on their tongues
For they know not what to use against us

Our name is been dragged in the mud
For the sake of a minute

Have you waited to think for a minute?
Before taking your final minutes
On whom we really are and what we actually do?
Then ask.

Peace and submission to the will of Allah is what we stands for
As beautiful as the name implies
As beautiful as the people are

Tolerance is our hallmark
Humility and respect for all
Our most charitable values
Integrity, we do not joke with
That is why we are always covered from every angle
We love you irrespective of where you are coming from
It is only within us you see no difference between the rich and poor

We believe in the only One Supreme Being
Who sent down Muhammad (SAW) as a messenger to the whole of mankind

From dusk till dawn are foreheads are humbly rested on the earth in honour of He Alone
Care and support for the needy we do not joke with
Be it our last coin
For we cannot feed alone

And when the Holiest month of Ramadan arrives
We welcome it with all spirituality and preparedness
To be filled and nourished with Islamic nutrients

Indeed this is a month we all love in one way or the other
Memuna learns to cook from mum
Adams learns how to slaughter the animal
We join hands to do justice to some bowls of fufu and Tuozaafi
I call it the once in a life time excursion
Visiting the Holy mosque of Saudi Arabia
To pay allegiance to the Allah Almighty

We believe in His ONENESS
Supreme and Eternal
Infinite and Mighty,
Merciful and Compassionate
Creator and Provider
He has neither mother nor father
Neither son nor daughter
He is God of all mankind

We believe in all His prophets and messengers without any discrimination
We also believe in the Zabur that was sent through David,
We believe in the Taurat sent through Moses
And of course our close brother the Holy Bible
And our very own Quran and all other books sent down
Ohhh the beautiful angels
They are wonderful creatures who protect us and monitor our every move
We believe they exist too and they worship Allah just as we do

Yes a day will surely come when the heavens branch of WAEC will give to us all our results
Yes Yaumul Kiyaama
So prepare.
He is the All Powerful God
He planned your life before bringing you here
He has power over our destiny and what He says is final
How beautiful we are as a people
Yet they say we are terrorists, we are murderers and we are barbaric

But I tell them do not judge us for what we have done not
Do not judge us for what Boko haram does
Neither should you judge us by what ISIS nor ALQAEEDA does for they are not from our fold
If they understood true Islam then they wouldnt kidnap innocent young girl, kill innocent souls and force others to join
For true Jihad doesnt mean killing
Our religion says leave them to come if they are willing
Because true Islam starts from the heart
Yes our Religion says Laa iqraa ha fiddeen
There is no compulsion in religion
We are a peaceful and loving religion
We are here for the sake of humanity
Not against humanity
We say love for all hatred for none
Not love for some hatred for some
We fight not with the sword but rather with the pen.

A LETTER TO THE FOUNDING FATHER

Dear father, moons have passed yet I've remained silent
Silent because the people you left behind to take care of us tied our legs, hands and mouth to prevent us from talking
Now you are seen as the worse enemy of the land if you talk for they say you re breeding violence
when in reality you are the true friend of the land.
Father, today my heart and pen bleed simultaneously as I pen down these words
To send through the bottle of schnap and egg I bought from Aunty Mansa shop to get the message across to the land of the silent ones
Father our country has been turned upside down.
She now walks with her head down and legs dancing in the skies
Dear father, the politicians have turned your country into a playground.
They have brainwashed all you children and made them toys controllable by remotes made in china.
Father our country now cannot boast of anything of hers.
They sold Ghana Telecom, Ghana Airways and their conscience.
Our country has now been given to Foreigners.
Father everything in our country now comes from china.
Even the toothpick the judges used to clean their teeth after chewing the goat came from china.
Very soon we will start importing Chinese babies.
The National anthem is now sang in different lyrics ………………………
Father I remember very well how you made all the extensions for agriculture so that your children will be able to feed when you leave.
Unfortunately we now eat rice made in Thailand because the politician has refused to continue with what you started.
Our Tomatoes now does not come from the Upper East Region, the tomatoes now comes from overseas.
Father you left too early. Our lives are messed up now.
Our voices are not heard any longer and our eyes hardly see.
Father, your daughter now has to sleep with the boss of a company to be granted a job when during your time, we had jobs in abundance and we even felt reluctant working.
All the factories you left behind have now become playground for rattle snakes and mice
And the machine parts now the interest of scrap dealers.
Father you foresaw this coming that’s why you built the Akosombo dam.
It is called Dumso.
The Akosombo dam has now become a fish pond yet we do not even get some of the fish.
Dumso is the most powerful individual in our country now

We keep on paying electricity bills yet we sleep in heat and darkness and the only story they tell us is the rains never come yet people die in floods.
We die of electric shocks, our appliances get spoilt, and our foods get rotten.
Now they say if we want to end it then we should pay more.
For God’s sake what wrong have we done to be treated this way.
You introduced, the Accelerated development plan for education
So that we can get educated free of charge.
They introduced the Savannah Accelerated development authority to alleviate poverty in the North
Yet the Guinea fowls they claim ran into Burkina Faso.
They now play with our educational system.
From three years to four years back to three years.
Just like a one two pass between Messi and Iniesta in a champions league final.
First they said, quality education
The others said free education
Now they say free and quality yet our school bills keep reaching rocket heights
And teachers do not even have the expertise.
When the teaching and learning materials are not even available
When our feeding grants never come and our salaries are horded.
You made education free for all not for some
You didn’t end is there
You extended it to health care
Father now our wives and mothers die every day in the hospital
Cholera and malaria kill our children like edwumawura kills the weeds at the backyard
There is nothing like free healthcare now
Father, they now steal our money and they are protected by so called human right.
What then happened to the same rule of law that they talk about?
Even if they are caught by Anas we only hear noise for a week or two and that ends it.
They conceal the truth and defend what is wrong.
Even our student leaders now dance to their tune just because they facilitated their campaigns with cash.
They are always on the front pages of newspapers hailing praises they bought with cash upon themselves.
They act just like the chameleon.
They greet, celebrate and sympathise with us in the morning
And when the sun reaches the zenith they are nowhere to be found
And when the stars show their beautiful faces they come smiling at us like they have done no wrong.
Father you fought against colonialism
Now they lobby for colonialism
They now determine who our traditional rulers should be
They have taken over every part of our country
Your children cannot even decide for themselves any longer even at polls.
They are given money to vote for the wrong people.
Awww father you injected into our veins the spirit of patriotism and unity
Now we fight among ourselves and kill our own brothers just because they are in different party colours.
We do not work for the love of the nation but for the love of money
Even judges now are corrupt
They misuse state property now because they care less
All your children now ran away from Ghana to Akwesi bronis country
And never want to come back because conditions are worse.
How I wish I could turn back the hands of time so that you can take us out of this bondage.
Your son
Karim Ewura Adams.

WHY STAND IN THE LINE WHEN YOU CAN STAND OUT?

Every Tom, Dick, and Harry was born with a purpose. As you sit in your room watching television, as you leave your home every blessed day early in the morning in your quest to impress your boss, and all that tiresome schedule of yours everyday just to impress people around you.
The funny thing is that your schedule remains the same everyday that you forget about yourself.
You forget that you were created with different Characteristics as compared to others around. You forget that you were born on a different day, given a different name to distinguish you from others. You forget that you could do some amazing things with the talent that God has given you and yet everyday you follow the same trend as everyone else. Just because she's in school, I also want to be in school, just because he's a singer, I also want to become a singer , just because , he's into that business I also want to do same.
When on earth are you going to stop the copy work and do things on your own? When on earth are you going to be you ? When on earth are you going to be who you were born to be and stop impressing others?
Some say that if you do not build your dream then someone else would hire you to build theirs and that is a bare fact. Day in day out we remain in the same race trying to impress people we work for when we have what It takes to be bosses of our own. When we have what it takes to employ others yet we choose to be employed and treated as slaves.
I put it to you today that God has planned something big for you. Your destiny today rests in your hands. You have to take that opportunity that comes your way. You have to put away that attitude of fear. Get out of that chair of laziness, that chair of fear, that chair of indecision , that chair of I can't do it, that chair of what if I do not succeed and sit in the chair of self confidence , sit in the chair of I can do it , the chair of hardwork, the chair of being firm in your decisions, the chair of yes I'm going to succeed, yes im going to win, the chair of persistence, the chair of determination, the chair of perseverance and above all let God take the wheel, I know you can do it , I know you're a winner, I know you can get to the Acme and truly tell the world what you're made of.
Tell yourself today that if Obama made it then I'll make it , if Sarkodie made it then I'll make it , if Nkrumah made it then I'll make it, if Chief moomen made it then I'll make it, if Kofi Annan made it then I'll make it, if Asamoah Gyan and Castro made it then I'll make it , if my own big brothers Gombilla and Don Sigli are making it then I'll make it. Program yourself for success and success will be yours. You're an extraordinary being. Let no one deceive you by leading you onto the wrong path because today I ask you WHY STAND IN THE LINE, WHEN 👉YOU CAN STAND OUT?

FALLING AND RISING AGAIN GIVES YOU A HIGHER CHANCE OF WINNING.

There's a vast difference between failing and failure. Now remember that failing does not automatically make you a failure but failing and refusing to rise again makes you a failure.
When I was in SHS I was always motivated by the words of my school father, the boys prefect at the time and he always said that Perseverance doesn't kill you but makes you stronger.
At first I thought it was a joke until I lost my first election on campus. There I realised I had to do something to redeem my stance.
I did my home work well and bounced back. My good friend out there, did you fail that job interview? Did you get an F in core maths or Int Sci? Did he/she say no to you? Did you lose the lottery? Did you lose your chance on going into the university because you were not pick by the university as a worthy material? Did you lose the contest? If your answer is yes, then what are you doing now. It saddens my heart to see a lot of people out there for the sake of the above reasons make their lives hell. And so what if you failed, and so what if you lost , and so what if you were not selected, and so what if you did not win, and so what if she said no.
You were born to be a great person. Take responsibility. Get up again and fight for what's yours. There are people out there who had Fs but are sitting the Nov Dec exam to prove Waec wrong, there are people out there who have not stop applying for jobs because they failed the first interview, there are people out there who still go to the lotto kiosk down the street to stake their numbers, there are people out there who are still applying for universities though they've been dropped severally, there are people who still take part in competitions after losing a thousand times. Why can't you do same ? Why can't you get out of that chair that's pulling you back , be on your feet, and go to battle for what's rightly yours. The moment you tell yourself I've had enough of it all is when you are qualified to be called a failure.
One reason I admire people who are repeated in class and they stay back in school to learn is that most of them become better than the others who met them in class. Not because they have an upper hand but because they're super motivated to learn.
There are people out there who have started Senior High school all over again to better their grades. So tell me what excuse do you have to stay back at home to lazy about because you failed the exam. What excuse do you have to stay back at home because you did not qualify. If you fail to make it through for the first time means that God is giving you the opportunity to go back home, do your homework well and try again. Remember that the road to success is not an easy one, you will come across several challenges and amongst them is failing. Do you know how many times,  The late president Mills ran for elections but lost, did he stop there? No, he kept on trying until he finally won. Even the famous Micheal Jordan failed on several times and these are his own words As Jordan puts it, “I have missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I have lost almost 300 games. On 26 occasions I have been entrusted to take the game winning shot, and I missed. I have failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.
Is it just Micheal Jordan alone? let's hear what the inventor of the light bulb has to say When asked about the many thousands of failures he had when trying to create the light-bulb he famously said, “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”  But there is even more to it than that.  As a child he was thought to be dumb and told that he would never be a success by many of his teachers, because his mind would often wander in class.
You have every opportunity in this world to try a second time. Do not let you first misfortune hinder you from trying again because the moment you say I've had enough and I'll not try again, you are qualified to be called a failure but the moment you say I've had enough of loosing, I'm going to win, I'm a winner, I will win, infact I have won in advance, then put those words into action, do as required and trust me you will win. Your life will never be the same. Forget about the mockery, forget about the shame, forget about the insults and the laughter for those same people who do it , will one day fall at your feet for help. Mahatma Ghandi said " first they ignore you, then they laugh at you , then they fight you , then you win". Do not let them discourage you for you are a winner. Tell yourself now that I am a winner for I have won the battle already. It doesn't matter how many times you fall. What matters most is that you win and not how many times you fail.

Fear

A lot of us out there fail on several counts because of FEAR.
First, the fear of failure and second the fear of success.
What if I try and I fail or I do not become successful?
What if I try and win and I'm not able to control my success or deliver as promised? What if ?what if? What if ? Is the question you keep asking yourself from dusk to dawn.
Have you tried ? Have you taken the bold step? Have you taken the risk ? NO!!! yet you sit there and you want to win. Until you leave that lazy chair of fear and take that bold step you will continue to remain where you are until Jesus comes back from Heaven, and who knows if he's going to come any soon.  My good friend out there remember that " Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure ". From now tell yourself you'll leave that chair and you will reach the acme of success. Have a blessed day.

UNEMPLOYMENT AND THE GHANAIAN YOUTH.

Everyday I hear a lot of the youth complain that there are no jobs and that the system is so hard for them to even make a living not to talk of being able to afford two squared meal a day. Its their right to complain so far as they are entitled to their freedom of speech and expression.
Whenever they complain, the elderly tell them ohh you the you youth of today are lazy and you do not look for jobs yet you complain, you are not hardworking unlike our time.
After I hear this I ask myself, what about those guys out there in our lorry stations and markets who are always on the move, carrying peoples load just to get something small yet what they earn at the end of the day cannot even carter for the mornings meal. Are they lazy and not hardworking? What about those energetic young men in our villages who are always in the farm under the scotching striving hard to feed the Nation yet the rains never come. Are they also lazy and not hardworking? What about our mothers and sisters who leave the comfort of their homes to work in chop bars, wash the cloths and clean the houses of so called rich people, sit, stand and walk in the hot sun just to get something small from the sale of sachet water, tomatoes and what have you just to feed the younger ones at home. Are they also lazy and not hardworking? What of that school boy or girl, who burns the midnight candles just to pass the exam and be able to fit in society someday as a medical doctor or lawyer or teacher or a business man but is not granted admission even after making the good grades just because he/she has no protocol and it renders the person a drop out and a jobless one for that matter. Is this person also lazy and not hardworking? What about the brilliant beautiful student who refuses to sleep with the lecturer for a pass when she knows what she is made of? What about the female graduate who came out with a first class and also does not get any job to do just because, she refused to sleep with the boss to be granted a job. Is this person also lazy and not hardworking?
So now, is the unemployment among the youth as a result of laziness or as a result of the attitude of people in authority?
Fellow Ghanaians out there. I believe that the time has come for us to put an end to higher rate of favoritism and nepotism, bribery and corruption and the negative attitudes we possess in our country and give to Cesar what belongs to Cesar to make head way. We must put an end to awarding of contracts for developmental projects to people just because we have a relationship with them and are are going to be given a percentage of the money that is earned from the contract but rather award contracts to selfless people who are going to do the work as demanded of them with all their hearts and minds. We must also put an end to sleeping with people before we give them jobs even when they have the requirements of the job.We must put an end to diverting funds meant for the development of our communities into our pockets and our protruding stomachs
This should be the time when we call a spade a spade and not give it other names when others are ignorant of it.
This should be the time that red should be called red and black black. The time when we must love our neighbors as ourselves and not only think about our families. The time when people with the best grades are given admission to read courses that they are qualified to read in schools. The time when we should all see ourselves as one people with one culture, one identity and one destiny. The time when there is no difference between NDC and NPP, CPP and PNC, MUSLIM and CHRISTIAN, because if we really want our NATION GHANA to stand on its feet again, we must be together just like the broom and work together just like that ants and not just think about today but think about what the future holds for the generations yet unborn. I HAVE A DREAM THAT SOMEDAY, MY COUNTRY, YOUR COUNTRY, HIS COUNTRY, HER COUNTRY, THEIR COUnTRY, OUR COUNTRY GHANA WILL STAND ON HER FEET AND NO AMOUNT OF NEGATIVE INFLUENCE CAN CHANGE HER. CORRUPTION MUST STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!
LETS RISE UP FUTURE LEADERS AND PUT GHANA BACK ON HER FEET. THIS TIME IS OUR TIME.
GOD BLESS OUR HOMELAND GHANA.
